The 4Cs
Each diamond has distinctive characteristics, clarity, cut and carat weight; They are standards for evaluating diamond quality anywhere in the world. These characteristics make all the difference in the quality and price of the diamond.
COLOR DELDIAMANTE
La evaluación GIA del color se basa en la ausencia de color. Un diamante puro y estructura perfecta no tiene color, es como una gota de agua pura. El sistema D-a-Z mide el grado de incoloridad, comienza con la letra D (sin color) y continúa con la incrementación de color hasta llegar a la Z.
Diamond Clarity
The natural diamond process can cause internal (inclusions) and external (stains) defects; The number, size, nature and position of these defects are evaluated; the fewer defects, the greater their value. There are 6 categories, which in turn are divided into 11 specific grades.
Clarity scale: 1.- FL (Flawless). 2.- IF (Internally Implacable). 3.- VVS1/VVS2 (Very very light inclusions). 4.- VS1/VS2 (Very light inclusions). 5.- SI1/SI2 (Light inclusions). 6.- I1/I2/I3 (Imperfect).
CORTE DEL DIAMANTE
Los diamantes son famosos por su habilidad de transmitir luz y destellar intensamente; el grado de corte define que tan bien interactúan las facetas del diamante con la luz, por lo tanto, define su brillo.
Los tres factores principales que determinan la calidad y el grado de brillo son precisión, simetría y pulido; evitan que la luz se escape de las facetas del diamante, la luz rebota como se observa en el *corte ideal* y es cuando destella intensamente.
PESO DEL DIAMANTE
El quilate es lo que determina el peso del diamante, un quilate equivale a 0.20 gramos. Un diamante puede tener un peso en quilates distinto sin parecer más grande, depende de la profundidad de los cortes, por eso el peso no indica el tamaño.
